we love this silly leka baby gym from ikea. it's simple, straightforward, wood, and nice looking. in these photos ramona is first starting to notice that this thing even exists (even though it hung over her head at our makeshift changing station on our dining room table for the first 6 weeks of her life). now (about two weeks after these photos were taken) she's grabbing for the hanging items and spinning the attachments on the side. today i even saw her take hold of the red ring (seen dangling to the right of her face in the first photo).

it's quite exciting to see your child develop simple abilities such as tracking with their eyes or grabbing with their hands. each day, it seems, she does something new.

andrea: it's nice to hear that i'm not the only one experiencing this situation. it does seem that ramona recently discovered otto and i look forward to when they can (maybe) be friends.
brandon: he works hard for the money!
robin: we love those diapers! thank you so much!

  1. At 6.5 months, Alice is still in love with that toy. It is a super "investment". Take care xox

  2. oh ikea... so close and yet so far away.

i adore wooden baby toys. seem much more classic and timeless than these crazy plastic music making noise buzzing i want to throw through the window kind of baby toys. and i think simple toys will better babies imagination and learning while not overstimulating them. asher has wooden blocks, wooden trains, wooden cars, wooden tools, and if we were closer to an ikea, i am thinking he would have had that.

they change so much in those first few months, and through the first year. it is amazing, and so much fun to watch.

ps... relish those days when they lay happily under swinging toys. while i still love EVERY moment, i run around like a mad person these days, and nothing keeps his attention longer than a moment. i feel like i'm taking crazy pills.

so jealous of you and lizzies play date! wish i was closer.

we'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback! be honest but also, and as your mother taught you, be kind.
