mr and mrs emily power

Hello Wheaton College Alumni Association,

I recently received a lovely card in the mail congratulating my husband and I for our marriage. While I appreciate this thoughtful gesture I am requesting that, moving forward, mail sent to me or mail sent to us not be addressed as Mr and Mrs Jonathan Power. My name is Emily Power or Mrs Power or collectively, with my husband, Mr and Mrs Power (or even Mrs and Mr Power).

I don't doubt that you have alumni that prefer, or even expect, to be formally addressed this way. However, I encourage you to consider another--perhaps less dated--style of addressing correspondence.
